Cycling Duong Lam Old Village Day Trip
Returning back highway No.3, Gach street (km 34), go straight to Son Tay town (km 41), continue further 3 km, Duong Lam village is on your left side. This village has many hamlets such as: Cam Lam, Dong Sang, Mong Phu, etc… also has common name as Mia village (sugar cane village).
Duong Lam village still keeps the old architecture style. You should visit this village if you want to learn how an old aged village in the middle phase of midland and delta. Apart from it, this village is well-known of the name "a village with two kings" as it is the fatherland of Phung Hung and Ngo Quyen, two national heroes had made contributions on driving away the Northern invaders (Chinese domination) during 8th century and 10th century and also proclaimed their Emperor.

08.00am, we travel west of Hanoi to visit Duong Lam village, a purely agricultural village of the Northern Red River delta where still preserve many hundred-year-old houses. It will be your unique experience as you walk along tiny ancient alleys; visit Mong Phu temple in Mong Phu hamlet - the only hamlet whose original village entrance gate remains intact, dedicated to national heroes. Have some talks with the locals in their ancient houses by visiting the ancient houses of Mr Lam, Mr Ha and Mr Huyen. Enjoy your special lunch with Vietnamese foods in an ancient house.

After resting, we continue driving to visit Mia Pagoda (other hamlet in Duong Lam village), is built in 15 th century and admire 287 statues of all sizes, among with are famous sculpture such as the statue of Buddha in the Himalayas and the statues of the Eight Vajra Deities. Then visit Ngo Quyen temple and Phung Hung temple, places dedicated to two national heroes Ngo Quyen and Phung Hung. Driving back hanoi. Tour finishes at about 5h00 PM

General information about Duong Lam Village
Duong Lam Village is in Ha Tay Province and about 60 km west of Hanoi. This village has been known as a museum of laterite with ancient houses aged up to 400 years old. It is also the only place in Vietnam where two kings came from. After the recognition of Hoi An ancient town and Hanoi old quarter, Duong Lam was recognized as a national relic in 2005. 
Duong Lam Commune:
In Duong Lam Commune, visitors can see famous relics such as Mia Pagoda, Phung Hung Temple, Ngo Quyen Temple and Mong Phu communal house.

Mia Pagoda was built during the Tran Dynasty before 1632 and still preserves many ancient artifacts.
Mong Phu is the biggest and the most famous village of Duong Lam Commune. Here, visitors also can see ancient houses and small lanes as well as everyday life of residents.
Duong Lam Village is also well -known for the birthplace of the two kings Phung Hung and Ngo Quyen, the two heroes led resistance wars against China's Sung and Southern Han troops to recover national independence. After their death, the local people built temples to worship the Kings.
A visit to Duong Lam village is a trip to trace back the origin of Vietnam's culture and Vietnam's traditions and a great chance to explore the special architecture through its surviving laterite brick ancient houses. Laterite and mud, the two materials that are abundant in the area, on house walls, gates, wells, temple walls, and so forth.
